Post CAS Week Reflection — Vietnam

There's a reason why Vietnamese people are considered some of the happiest in the world. Vietnam has a war-ridden past: in the third century BC Vietnam's first kingdom had already been overthrown, which was then followed by Chinese conquest and rule for over a thousand years and the eventual pushing-out of the occupiers in 939. Yet I feel the Vietnamese have proved time and time again that they are resilient people, after the end of the Vietnam war in 1975 when the North emerged victorious. CAS Week: Thailand

CAS week was an extremely rewarding experience, I have to say. This service learning opportunity allowed me to develop socially as well as gain valuable hands-on experience in community and service. The various activities also challenged me physically and mentally as I tried to go outside my comfort zone and try something new such as rock climbing and archery.
