Exhibition Action

After the exhibition, I have to take some kind of action.

Currently, I am thinking to do a PSA (Public Service Announcement) to raise awareness to revolutions/big conflicts happening around the world. I also want to deliver a message when someone watches the video (My message is to think of the consequences before y0u create an conflict). I will be posting the PSA on Youtube and my blog so that a lot of people can see it.

I am planning to start making the PSA now and finish it before the 11th May.

This is where I think I am on The Ladder of Participation:

I think I am on the seventh step, which is Child initiated and directed. It was my initiative to make the video and I am going to make the video all by myself.

Pie Day!

Yesterday, we had “Pi” day, where three lower school teachers would get “pied” in the eye (with real cream pie). We also got to eat lots of pie our classmates made. I ate apple, chocolate and pork pie, they were all delicious.

Teachers getting pied by students:

Firstly Mr Macpherson:

Secondly Ms Kissinger:

Then Mr Reynolds

And last but not least our lower school principal Mr Hughes

Weekly reflection #2

This week, I had to finish our units summative assessment, which was to write a report of a public space. It was really challenging for me because there was only a small amount of time. But I still stayed on a positive attitude.

World Maths Day has finished on Wednesday and I got a total score of 1777 points (What an interesting number!). One of my classmates almost go into the top 100 in the world with around 700 points more than me.

Just heard today, that on March 14th (Pi day for our school), one of our lower school teachers will get hit by pie. The person that will throw the pie is the person that can recite the 3.14 times table.

Weekly reflection

This week I was kept my time well.

There was a lot of work to do this week, like finishing our portfolio (because its going home today). I’ve put tons of stuff in it. Another thing that made this week busy was finishing our report. But I was very productive and I wrote lots of reflections for my portfolio (my teacher said there must be a reflection for every thing you put in it) and finished my report.

World Math day is happening on March 6th. My class was first in the world in practice time on Tuesday.

Our class was hysterical when we found that out.

But sadly because some people forgot to give in work before playing it, our homeroom teacher didn’t let us play it until the day.

Also we have been learning about Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for this year. But our teacher said that Adobe has rised their price by 4x and our school will need tons of money to keep the Adobe applications. So maybe in the next few years, we won’t have Adobe applications on our computers.

PE responses

Sportsmanship means to play fair and give opportunities for everyone to play.

Sportsmanship looks like everyone having fun.

It is important to play to the rules because if you don’t, people won’t enjoy playing it and there will be lots of conflict happening.

Good strategies for handball is to spread out all around the field because if you’re being pressured, you could easily pass the ball out of the pressured area.

A good strategy for “Capture the Flag” is for some people to go to one side of the field, so the defenders would try and go to tag them. But then, you put another group of people to go on the other side and there will be not a lot of defenders to tag you (Since they’ve all gone on the other side) and you could easily get into the flag zone.

Team strategies are important because it’s very hard to win without one.

You create space by spread out all around the field. To deny space, you could get very close to the attacker so that they don’t have space to do anything.

Strong skills in sports can help you win a game/match. For example, if you have good passing skills in soccer, you could get past all the defenders easily.

In basketball, it is important to have all dribbling, passing and defending skills.

When a team is physically fit, it helps in a game because everyone runs a lot in a game/match and the unfit will get tired and can’t continue the running. But the people that are fit could keep running till the end of the game/match.

Teams that are physically fit usually win because while the opponent is already very tired, your team is still running like what you normally do. It really helps you in your agility and your team’s attacking.

So these are my responses to PE.

I am organized

This week I have been super organized.

Starting from this week, my classroom teacher said that from now on, we don’t have a personal desk where we sit there every day at school. At the end of the day, we either have to put the things in our desk in our locker (Although my locker is now a bit messy)  or in our schoolbags to take it home. Because of that I have turned into a very organized person.

Steve Stiller

Every year, our school invites an artist to the school to perform and teach us about art. This years artist of residence is an awesome Australian percussionist Steven Stiller. He plays three instruments (The drums and two other xylophone like instruments but with metal tubes bellow each key).

The songs he did were very entertaining especially when he was playing the drums. He was also pro skill at the other instruments because he was playing with four mallets in his hand.

Overall, I enjoyed his music. Ms. Sandul (our class teacher) said that he will come into our music class some time and teach us music.

Photos of him playing the instruments:
