Subway’s Mission Statement

Delight every customer so they want to tell their friends – with great value through fresh, delicious, made-to-order sandwiches, and an exceptional experience.

Subway’s Goal

“Our goal is to be ranked the number one Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) worldwide while maintaining the great-tasting freshness of our products that is our trademark.”

Objectives, Strategies, Tactics

Importance

Employees know what the company wants, how the company plans to do it, and what they as employees need to do to accomplish these goals. It makes the employees feel like they are all part of a unit working towards a common objective. This can have a positive influence on work production because employees feel responsible to reach the goal.

The company is able to use these objectives to make decisions with consistent outcomes in order to fulfill these objectives. This helps steer the company in the direction it wants to go, and reduces complications due to other interests. An example would be agreeing to use cheaper products to make their food, which then results in worse tasting food, and goes against their objective of being the number one ranked quick service restaurant.

Influence of the Mission Statement

The mission statement says  “Delight every customer so they want to tell their friends”. This relates to the objective of the company because it shows the company wants it’s reputation to grow and lead towards being the number one ranked quick service restaurant. This mission statement also relates to Subway’s tactics because it says  “great value through fresh, delicious, made-to-order sandwiches, and an exceptional experience”. Both mission statement and tactics say they use fresh and delicious food in order to become a more popular quick service restaurant.
