Above is the final version of my header image created on Design Day.
1. Have a modern clean look as I am interested in Technology and have the typography as clean and minimalistic as possible.
2. Some how have law as some sort of representation in my artwork as I really want it as part of my header as it represents myself.
3. Include colours like blue and green and sliver for the clean and sleek look effect.
4. Represent camera or the love of photography
To what extent did my design meet my specifications?
Do you think this image expresses a sleek, modern and simple look?
I found all the fonts in the sans serif and serif section to be very minimalistic. , simple and modern which satisfies one of my goals and achievements. Most of the fonts in that section are worth trying and using including the Beabas Nueue font and the Bebas font. Some other fonts like Code are also worth looking at and trying in the final design. These fonts were all found on the DaFont.com site which was inspired by the Choosing Your Font website which recommended the sans-serif fonts and serif fonts to be used as logos. Design:
I learned a lot about design during this inspiration series of work. There were a few concepts and rules we had to follow in design in order for it to be effective and successful. 1. Timeless 2. Simple 3. Versatile (Different mediums of expressions and it should work across all of these)
Although BMW’s logo changed throughout time, the overall design is recognised and allows it for further brand recognition.
Colours are also supposed to be important too. I chose sliver as it evokes a good sense of sophistication, which is important in university admissions. Blue and Green are also colours that many males say they prefer which makes sense as I’m also a male which gives me this gender identity which probably is important in expressing yourself.
We will be using illustrator to create our header image. This will be an important tool we will be needing to master. There was a helpful website that talked about 10 things you should know before you use Adobe Illustrator which was quite helpful in helping me kickstart this creation. Some of the things taught including tips in the management of layers and the interface which will make it easier for a person to navigate the program. It also introduces the ability to easily create shapes.
There are some similarities in differences in the new MYP and old framework. Instead of calling the investigation part an investigate, they now call it the “Inquiring and Analysing”. In the past the required work and what you should are much more broad, and now there are many sub-sections within a larger section which makes it easier for us to do the right thing and do it correctly. For example, there are only 2 sub-sections in each section, compared to 4 sub-sections in one section. This allows it to be followed more accurately and allow students to get a better perspective of the process and develop their product through these better steps. I notice the colour of the framework is different which I don’t think has to do with the content of the framework. It is now much more clear into what is required by the student and what should be accomplished. But this kind of limits the creation process of the student or artist as students will have to follow these steps in order to get a good grade.
