Title: The Sad Girl

Introduction:

This is my art piece; I copied off from someone else’s sketch. This sketching was originally sketched by a person named Valli and was drawn on May 5th 2011.

Purpose:

I decided to copy this sketch because I thought that this sketch was beautiful and that it showed the feeling of sadness, which is the message that I wanted the people to know when they looked

at my art.

Value:

The value in this art piece is that I wanted to express my feeling by sketching and, because when I was sketching this I was sad.
Process:

In the process of this sketch I had to try to re-sketch it many many times so I could sketch it properly.  You can see my 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th attempts. You can also tell which is my final piece.  During my attempts I had problems with making my sketch look 3D so it looked more nicer and I also had a hard time copying it onto a whole A4 piece of paper, so instead of drawing it in a whole A4 size paper I just decided to use a small part of the A4 paper.

Medium:

I used white paper to sketch on, black paper for the background and pencil to sketch.

Elements:

The elements that I used in this sketch are tints and shades and line. I used tints and shades by using a pencil and coloring it light and dark at some points. I used line by drawing some curvy lines to form the shape of the girls face, fingers, nails, lips, nose, eyes, eyelashes, eyebrow and some strait lines to form the shape of the frame to make it easier to draw her face.

:D :)
