Experience Week in Chang Mai

by 043308 on May 15, 2013

Last week most of my Grade, the Grade 7’s went to Chang Mai, but some people either didn’t hand in the form in time to go to Chang Mai or decided to go to Beijing or stayed here instead for other reasons. Chang Mai is a place that is very close to Burma which is around the northern part of thailand. We where there for 6 days, from May 6th to May 11th and we stayed at the Mae-Kok River Resort which had an educational center at the part of resort where we had stayed in which divided the resort from the educational part which was a very nice place to stay in. During the trip, I think the two main learner profile attributes that I have shown were Risk-Taker and Communicator.

I have shown that I was a Risk-Taker, an example is during the rock climbing session at first I was very confident because it looked really easy and I have had good experience with rock climbing before. However I haven’t been rocking in a long time, the only time I remembered that last time I rock climbed was when I was 8 which was 5 years ago, but I easily climbed up but when I got half way through the rocks became smaller and more wider apart so I couldn’t really reach and my legs where shaking so badly and my hands were getting more sweaty but with the support and help from the cheering on below of my team mates and Ms. Carmen’s good advices and help to cheer me on and keep me going I made it to the top successfully. So even though I was scared I was going to fall I still tried to push myself through and I did get through.

I have shown that I was a communicator, an example is during the community and service visiting the kids and working to help build the kitchen by painting the walls and making bricks, I communicated not only by using words but by using actions and a gestures to send out a message to the kids for instructions for games and how to ask what to do when I didn’t know or needed to be clear on in instructions with the teachers or workers in the community. I really enjoyed working with the workers, teachers and students.

In conclusion I felt that this trip that helpt me realize how lucky I am to be able to go to a good school and to be living in a very good conditioned or even better condition kind of environment. This trip has also helped me to continue to visit these kind of countries to help be envolved more in community and service.

KMT Court Case Reflection

by 043308 on May 2, 2013

1. Do you agree with the Jury’s verdict? Why or why not? Include at least 5 facts from evidence that was presented during the trial.

I do agree with the Jury’s verdict because, first of all KMT is every where, there are always molecules in everything in solid or liquid objects, secondly even during the court case the prosecution team even used some of the KMT,

2. What was your job? Explain how you fulfilled your responsibilities.

My job was a defense witness #3 and I fulfilled my responsibilities by researching about the KMT and doing experiments to witness if the KMT is true

3. If you could do a different job during the court case, which would you have volenteered for and why?

If I could do a different job during the court case, I would have chosen the Jury because that way I didn’t have to choose or be forced to be on a team and that I could also choose to work with either side.

4. Explain one or more things you learned about the KMT during the investigation

During the KMT investigation I learned more about what its like to be a scientist, what it felt like and what you have to do when you’re in cout and lastly there is a lot of KMT everywhere.

5. Explain how you improved as a scientist during the KMT investigations and trial.

I improved as a scientist during the KMT investigations and trial because it proved how much I still need to work on and how much I know about the KMT and how to be a scientist.

Math Class AOI Post!

December 4, 2012

In math class we are learning about patterns. I am looking at human ingenuity as Area of Interaction because if we make patterns it helps us be more creative, to learn to match things and see how real world patterns grow. For example, how money grows, how changes grow, etc.
