This morning I met Mr. Tim, I showed him around to the library for a card, the cafeteria, forum, washrooms and gym. Then I asked Mr. Steiner to borrow a basketball to use. Then Mr. Tim and I played basketball for a while. I went to the library to return and borrow a book. I did a checklist worksheet and read a part of the book I borrowed. Then I showed him First Class, an email program that CDNIS uses. Being out of class for half a day makes me feel weird , because usually I stay in class during school time, so it makes me feel strange. My goal is to improve my social skills so that I can get along with others and make friends.

This week grade 6 learned about how markets are organized and operated. I learned that if you want to organize a market you’ll need to find a good location. Another tip to be successful is to find out the community for that place. So that it will serve their daily needs, or else you they won’t buy anything from you. Most importantly, you will go bankrupt. This week our class went to a wet market and a market square in Aberdeen to investigate about our U.O.I., most people there are at least 80 years old! For some reason, all the shops there were selling things that old people don’t need, so researching about communities is very important in retail business. Also you need to have a way for people to get to your market, otherwise it will end up like a ghost town and it will be empty. We also learned about how those markets operate, like how it works and runs. You also need to put up ads, because if you don’t, no one will know that your market even exists. The two things that I could do that couldn’t before was operate and organize a market, now that I learned about it.

This week we learned about markets, that’s why there was a grade 6 market recently. We learned that when making a market, you have to make ads and advertise about it, so that people will bring money to buy your things. A market must have a good location and must be on a good time. It also can’t be too cheap or you will end up losing money, not gaining it. A market needs to attract customers, so don’t make it look ugly. You also need to sell useful products so people will buy it. Our class earned more than 2,500$ in only 55 minutes! After the market project, I now know how to make a market. This week a author teached us how to come up with ideas. He said you needed to write special things that happened and to think of basic things. The author’s name is Jack Gantos. After his presentation I now can come up with more ideas using his method to do so. I still will need to improve upon helping my group out when doing group activities, such as the market one.

This week a man came and gave us a presenation. His name is Mr.Smith, he is a designer of Rebok. He design mostly clothes in Asia. The first thing he told us was about his inventions and his old company Vessel. He invented a candle that didn’t burn tables. The reason he came was to tell us about designing clothes and shoes. He told us that there was a man that they poked with Rebok equipment to see if the clothes were right. That man had to be the perfect middle sized. The funniest part bout his presentation was the crying room. He explained that bad designers go in there just to cry. He said he cried in there before once. That was what he told us.This week I also learned about art. I think everyone can be an artist because there are many forms of art and everyone is good on something. Today is also the school’s Halloween party! This is what happened during this strange week…

In this unit I have learned different ways to deal with conflicts, like to investigate deeper into the conflict or to simply compromise. I also found out about how differences in values and attitudes can cause conflicts that are dealt with in different ways. Now I understand how conflicts are formed and know more resolutions to deal with it. I also learned why identify needs are so important to solve and cause conflicts. Now I can do more things such as, understand a problem before having a conflict, find out the other person’s reason to do what they are doing and understand their identify needs. That way, less conflicts will appear and even if it does, it would be solved easier.

I chose this picture because it starts with 1 pair of rabbits, and every two months the pair gives birth to another pair, so it adds up the previous two numbers and gets the sum. At the end of 5 months, there are already 5 pairs of rabbits. This is the Fibonacci sequence…

The book is called Diary of a Wimpy Kid. It is about a boy named Gregory (Greg). He just had his summer break. He is now in middle school. At night, Rodrick Greg’s brother woke him and said it was time for school, but Greg’s dad came out and explained that it was still night time. At school Greg got stuck with morons. After school, he and his best friend Rowley made a haunted house which eventually failed, because Rowley’s dad disagreed with the idea. The following day Greg signed up for safety patrol and he got hot chocolate every morning as a patrol. Then Greg chased people with worms and was kicked out of safety patrol. The next day was Halloween so Greg and Rowley went trick or treating, but a few teenagers in a truck splashed water at Greg. So some of his candy got soaked. Then Greg shouted something that he immediately regretted. He said he would call the police. Next the teenagers chased them for the whole day. When they finally went home, Greg’s father eliminated all their candy. A couple day later, the teenagers came for revenge, they made Rowley eat the cheese. Then Greg lied and told everyone it was him who ate it. The cheese touch is something that needed to be passed around, unless you cross your fingers.

The main character in this book is called Gregory Heffley, he is an awkward and a really wimpy kid. He is strange, because he does crazy things and wimpy things. Greg just finished summer brake and now needs t go to middle school.

The section of this book that relates to my life is I also unfortunately finished my summer holiday and started school. I also have an older brother, except he is a little better than Rodrick.

If I were the main character, instead of lying and saying that I threw away the cheese, I would tell the truth and say that Rowley ate the cheese once and for all.
