Reflection of a Book (Iqbal)

Today in our class we read a book named “Iqbal”. The book was about children slaves, who were working in a carpet factory, from dusk till dawn in Pakistan. The book was actually quite interesting. This book was a real story that was fictionalized and translated into English. I think our teacher chose this book for us to read because it was about our U.O.I. (unit of inquiry). In our U.O.I. we are learning about child rights and their opportunities. I learned a lot of things in this book. The most important thing I learned today was that children all over the world are different, depending on where you live. For me the hardest part of this book was reflecting on it, that is what I am doing right now, because there were so much happening in this book, that it is so hard to reflect on it. What I want to learn more about in our unit is what it is like to be working in a brick factory. I think it would be the worst thing that could happen. What helped me was when the teacher told us what word means what. But the problem was there were a lot of students talking when the teacher was reading, so it was a little hard to understand and hard to hear. That’s all I have to reflect on.
