Hey everyone. I’m Cassandra and I have a little treat for you. If your ever wanting to know how to divide fractions, here’s your chance!
Task: Our task was to create a 1 minute movie (I failed on that bit) to teach Grade 5 students how to divide fractions with a visual explanation and through voice as well. I used a program called SAM animation to create my video. SAM animation is where you take a bunch of pictures put together to create a video.
Anyway, after this whole task was done and published, we did a reflection and I want to share it with you. Scroll down to see the video.
My reflection:
Our task was to create a 1 minute movie on how to divide fractions to show to the grade 5 students. Our first step was to brainstorm success criteria for our project. Then we went off individually and started to plan. After that, we started making our movie. I thought it was a good experience but there were some challenges to it. For example, getting my materials ready before I film. That was very annoying because I was using a whiteboard and for every frame, I had to erase and write. That was a challenge because this took a long time but we didn’t have a lot of time. I didn’t exactly overcome this problem because time is precious and you can’t ask for more. Anyway, if I could somehow go back in time, I would really want to have done a better job for this. For instance, I accidentally uploaded the wrong video because I was in a rush. The movie I uploaded was longer then I remembered. If I had more time or to redo this task, I would make sure that everything is right.
So, apart from my mistakes, what do you think?
