5 busy weeks in Grade 6 has been great! Where we are right now? The summative task of our first unit. What is a summative task you ask? Well that’s a good question!
A summative task shows the teacher that you understand the unit and the central idea. Our unit now is about conflict management. Our central idea is: Differences in values can cause conflict we choose to deal with in different ways. We have to make a skit based on a scenario. My group’s scenario is about friendship relations.
Here is my group’s scenario:
Jade and Jessica have been friends since first grade. Caitlyn, the new girl, becomes really good friends with Caitlyn and tries to split time between her good friends. Jade starts to get jealous. She starts ignoring Jessica. When Jessica’s mom tells her that they are going to Universal Studios and Jess chooses Caitlyn…….Jade could not believe it!
That’s not even the official task! The official task is to watch somebody else’s skit and try to figure out what the conflict is, what are the values that are in this conflict, and how can it be resolved.
