Curiosity About Mars

We have been reading an awesome website calledOur little earth, I happened to find an interesting post about Mars and how they found out more about that planet. I learned that it takes 8 months to arrive to mars, but you have to be very careful with the timing because if you blast at the wrong timing, you might not be able to reach mars. When I finished reading there were episodes called Mars in one minute, you can click on the link to watch “How do you get to Mars?”

The 3 most important things about going to Mars are: rocket, timing, and aim. For rockets, it’s really important because the more heavier you space craft the more powerful your rocket needs to be to lift off. For timing, it’s another really important thing because Mars and Earth orbit at different time and distances. About every 2 years the planets are in perfect positions, so it uses less rocket fuel. For aim, it’ also important because you have to aim where it will be when you get there.

Scientists launched something called a Curiosity Robot, Curiosity helps scan rocks, and other things. Curiosity is not alone it also has a friend call Opportunity, Opportunity has been around Mars since 2004. I really think this is really cool science, and I would love to go study space or even go to the Moon or other planets!
