Gr.9 Simulations-My Reflection

Yesterday, 5B ad 5D went to the grade 9′s classroom to do some activities  with them. I thought these activities were really fun because I learn about how some people have to live, and I get to be with some of my friends. We were split into different groups, there was red, dark blue, light blue, orange, green, and black. I was in the red group with James, Charles, Rachel Leung, and Vanessa. The first activity we did was the poverty, I thought it was really fun because we were in the dark with raining and thunder noise, with some kidnappers. I learned that people in Kenya have to live in slums, and when it rains the mother has to protect the children from kidnappers.

The next activity we did was the immigration, I also thought it was really fun because I was a blind journalist, and my friend rachel was my leader. We had to fill out a form about our selfs, then we had to go through an obstacle course which I thought was quite hard since I couldn’t see. After that we had to do a task, then within 30 seconds we had to get a job or else we would get kicked out of Canada. I thought that taught me a lesson because now I know that some people have to take months, days, or years to get to another country.

The last activity was the Refugees, and I also thought that was quite fun because we had to search for bottles, clips, bottle caps, and a bracelet. Each item cost money, and the first one who gets to $400 wins. I learned that refugees have to keep searching for food, or money and they still have to pay for the rents and food wich leaves them very little money for themselves. Over all I thought these activities were really really fun.
