The exhibition has finally started, time to show everything you’ve learnt in this school. The exhibition is your last project that you’ll be doing in the lower school so everyone is exited. My group is consisted of Chester, Nicole and Viva. My group is doing the subject conflicts through out history, this was my 2nd choice so I am pretty happy and my group is a strong group. I really think that the exhibition is going to be great.

Olivier uses great inquiry based learning language to explain what he’s discovered. I was pleasantly surprised by the structure and planning he learnt through the writing process. I also really enjoyed seeing the 4 bar music composition program for the first time. I think Olivier’s greatest strength is his enthusiasm to do a fantastic job with his maths and English projects. He also is very athletic so he loves PE. Olivier showed strong development in his passion for maths. His speed and accuracy are improving dramatically. He is keen to learn new concepts. His knowledge of the writing process including research skills has also increased to help him analyze concepts.  I was happy that one of his goals is to spend quality time editing his writing compositions.

I think that papering for the SLLR helped better understand myself as a learner because I really had to challenge myself to show the best part of my learning. So then I know what my strengths and weaknesses are. The most challenging part for preparing for the SLLR was that I had to only do activities that could be done at school. If I could do this again I would try and make more of the activities related to the classroom and tried to show my learning in a more interactive way with my mom. The best part was when I did P.E. because my mom and I were really having fun together and it showed my understanding of the skills you need for volley ball and the technique. Overall this has been a great way to show my learning journey.

I am so excited because next week there’s this big rugby tournament on tuesday for the whole day but unfortunately we miss school. it’s only for the U12 team and you have to be in grade 6. i think we have a good chance of wining as this year we have a great team. Last tournament we got into the bowl finals and missed out by 1 try. I can’t wait till Tuesday!!!

For the past week we have been making art pieces for a gigantic mural. The mural will  be our houses, which is a lion mountain, a orca, a raven and a lion. I can’t wait to see the final mural!!!

Today I am going to talk about the main character in the book Brian. The other character is Derek but right now Derek is in a coma so there’s no attitude or any of the PYP stuff that he did. My group has discussed what learner profile attitudes and attributes he’s shown. We’ve decided that he is a thinker, he’s knowledgable, , he’s caring and he’s a risk-ticker. He was a thinker because he had to think about what he was going to do and he was thinking about  how he was going to save Derek. He’s knowledgable because he knows how to do a lot of things. Like reading a map and making a fire. He is a caring person because when Derek was hurt he didn’t just think of saving him self, he made sure that Derek was breathing and that he was alive. He’s a rusk-ticker because he decided to go out there again just to show people how it’s done.

I think that “The River” was a great book!!

Today we saw that a class had there door wide open and we took there computers to teach them a lesson, we were laughing hard but we left our instruments out and they struck back and took our instruments. After we got into our room put the computers back and got our instruments back. A lesson is to learn from this, never leave a computer unattended.

Intermurals was a very fun and exciting intermurals. We 6C got into the semi-finals but then we had the lead but then the other team fought hard and tied it but then they shot and scored. It went back and forth but eventually they pulled ahead and then the clock was ticking and then the whistle went and 6D were going to the finals. The finals were a close match but 6A beat 6D 8-6. 6A were the champions and they won the free DDD day.

Hand ball intermurals has stated and we won our first match against 6D. The second match were against a very strong side 6B. It was tight all the way. We were leading at the start but there spirit was great and the came back to win it by 3 points. Then we played another strong side 6A. We were leading by a lot but on the last shift they were coming back but it was too late so we came out on top. Next week we will be playing 6E.

The chinese new year concert was a great performance. My favorite part was the acrobats, they were soooo good. I couldn’t do one of the tricks they did. I couldn’t even do something near to as good as what I did. I had to say a poem. I also really like the drum opening. That concert was the most exiting one of them all.
