Grade 5 SHOWCASE

This year, I had a great year at CDNIS, I made new friends, closer relationships and I learned new skills. I learnt a lot of things, I will surely miss this year because it is this year that I got my Macbook Pro. I look forward to the next year and I hope that next year would be as much fun as this year.

I also made goals to work on this year, my first goal is to increase the level of focus and concentration because I was not really concentrated in the first term and I always fooled around with my classmates. My second goal is to ask more questions and be more active in class discussions because I always don’t raise my hand and I only sometimes participate in class discussions. But while it was second term, I worked on those goals and I improved on my marks. I met my goals on my second term because I had something to focus on and I worked on it more than I did in the first term, so I got a better mark, I also did not fool around that much in second term. The goals helped me a lot this year because without those goals my teacher made for me, I would not have gotten a good score on my second term if I couldn’t focus on something that would help my marks get better.

I would like to highlight a project I made, its a PSA, it is already in one of the blog posts so you can go and view that because I put a large amount of effort into creating that PSA and I got my results back when I got my summative assessment rubric. Another project I would like to highlight is my recount, I already posted it as a slide share in one of my posts I did. I would like to highlight this recount because I liked the content of it and I also put a huge amount of effort into it, I think that it was well planned and I thought that the story was pretty attractive and if the right people saw it, it might make a change. I included both pieces because I think that it might teach other people how bad can it be to have no children’s rights at all.

This is a wordle I made that talks about all the blog posts that I have made in this year.

This is a photo collage I made with my friends. We all did different versions of a photo collage and we got each others photo. I used photo booth effects to make this and I hope you like it.

My favourite piece was the persuasive text I wrote for my summative assessment in the unit “Sharing The Planet” because it was really entertaining, for persuasive, we each had to be a character, I was given the character “Restaurant owner”  and I really enjoyed it because I got to think up all of these reasons, write them down and think of a way to combine my reasons with other words to make my text more persuasive than just trying to fit my reasons for composting in. I included this peice because it was really fun to write this piece, our class also spent loads of time on how to write persuasives so we had a better knowledge about persuasive texts than other people.

This year was fun and I liked it, but our grade 5 camp was not as fun, the teachers were really strict but I still enjoyed it even though it was pretty tiring. I will never forget this year.
