At first it was going well but when I looked down I wanted to go back but I kept on climbing. I demonstrated communicator during most of the activities that involved groups. For example during the kayaking I listened to my group mate so I know which way to paddle. I got to know all the people in my group. I got to know things about the like their personality. One thing that surprised me about myself was that I was actually good at some of the things that I thought I would be bad at. For example I was actually good at rock climbing.

The most challenging part of the unit was the tests because I would often study too little and get low grades. The easiest part of this unit was learning the new concepts. My effort in class and at home seemed to be very small because I would get low grades and occasionally forget to bring homework to school. In this unit I didn’t find much things fun in this unit but I did learn many things from this unit.

I really hated the math questions where you had to find the rule because they take so long to figure out. I didn’t like the things in the lesson but i guess i like the fact i learned new things. I don’t think I learned some things very well but I learned input output tables very well. I don’t have any questions. Well for me I am considering a career of an architect so Patterns have something to do with buildings

This is related to approaches to learning because the scientists that would be working on this are going to learn how to prevent another disaster.

Community and service: They should gather volunteers to to help clean up the debris. They can also start a charity to get money so they get the refugees food and water. This relates to community and service because the volunteers are going to be helping the people in the community

Human Ingenuity: They should use their research to create a house a house that can withstand an earthquake. The people are using their ingenuity to help make houses which can withstand earthquakes.

Environments: They can put the village in a more safer place like up in the mountains or a flat lands so their village can more resistant to the natural disaster. The people would be moving the village to an environment safer than that area.

Health and social education: People should start a funding so they can buy medical equipment to help the injured. The people are using their health education to help the other kids who could be possibly injured

Parents:

He is now better at grasping the central themes and ideas. He is more confident in his presentations and has improved his communication skills. Alex showed that he is good at focusing on a topic but needs to widen the scope of his inquiries and spend more time on research. His vocabulary has increased and he is comfortable with using more complex words to convey his ideas. He has a good aptitude with language so we just need to encourage him to practice his French and Chinese more often. He still needs to work on his penmanship and learn to pay closer attention to his GCOPS.

My parent’s quote:

The SLLR is a good opportunity for the parents to see firsthand their child’s overall progress. Not only were we able to see how Alex has improved in his subjects but it also gave us a better understanding of how we can help him improve further.

Me:

Studying taught me that if I start at a late time it affects the results. I found it most challenging when I had to explain the Chinese story when I forgot my Chinese folder. I would prepare all the things I need to bring before I have to go to the SLLR’s. The best part was when I got to show the math game about the fractions because it was the most entertaining part of the SLLR’s

My quote: I think that I had done this pretty well because I managed to finish the SLLR with my parents giving me a lot of praise for my presentations.

This week I demonstrated communicator. I demonstrated it when I was in gymnastics with my teammate and we had to decide on what positions we would use like front scale or straddle. Communicator means a person who communicates, especially one skilled at conveying information, ideas, or policy to the public. We also used communicator to help synchronize both of our moves. Next week I want to work on open-minded. It means to accept other peoples ideas. I could be working on it while in a group and my group mate says an idea an I say good idea instead of saying that was a terrible idea. I have to ask how will the attributes or attitudes help me through the entire I.B. program.

P.S. i was sick on friday so i had to post this on monday because i’m not allowed to bring my computer home on weekends
