I mean, I don’t listen to opera, nor Shikata Akiko, but I love this song. I L0000000VE (nooby hearts included) this song. (no sarcasm involved).
If you know what Umineko no Naku no Koro Ni (I don’t care if you’ve only watched the anime, even though fans might bash it and say the original sound novel is x100 better) is, this is the song for the Magic ending in EP8, where Yasu sacrifices herself for Battler. Seriously, the ending made me cry. Ryukushi07, why did you seal Yasu’s ultimate fate by death?! The revealing of Beatrice’s true form and history is already angsty enough… Anyways, before I start crying over this lovely Battler/Yasu ship again I’m just going to explain what Umineko is.
It’s a visual novel, which means it’s kind of like something like an RPG game which you make no decision in. It’s a book which you read. With epic BGM (truly epic BGM for an amateur trance artist) to support the scenes.
If you’ve noticed the goriness in some of the pics in the vid, it’s because a) the girl has committed suicide, b) the whole series of visual novels is a murder mystery.
Imagine this: you’re here, on an island, trapped with your relatives at a family gathering because of a typhoon. Then, a mysterious murderer starts killing of the 16 people on the island… with no trace of any clues. The murderer claims that she/he is the Golden Witch, who wields magic that has granted your slowly-going-insane grandfather millions of gold in the past, and is now seeking his payment.
Of course, magic doesn’t exist, does it? You have to defy the Golden Witch’s ‘magic’ with your own logic… and if you lose… it’s game over.
That’s basically what the first 4 episodes of the novel talk about. Then, in episode 5, more witches are introduced, and the main character is thrown into a parallel world and told to conduct his own game of murder, and unknowingly becomes the ‘gamemaster’. If his story is flawed, it’s game over for him.
The last 3 episodes slowly uncover the truth of who the Golden Witch is.
Goodness me I finally finished a post that I’ve left lying around for 1 month or so. XD
