The Man Who Loved Clowns

Over the past month or two, we’ve been reading a touching book called “The Man Who Loved Clowns” by June Rae Woods. When we finished the book, we had two tasks to do. Make a book review and create a movie trailer.

Book Review:

Don’t judge a book by its cover. This book really shows what that phrase really means! I first chose this book for a book club and I thought it was going to be a a sweet, funny and mellow story but right off the bat it became a heart-wrenching story. I thought it wold be about clowns but really, it doesn’t have much to do with the story. It starts off with a nice little family that has one daughter called Delrita. Delrita’s Dad has a brother who suffers from Down’s Syndrome who they all call Punky. They go on living a nice little secluded life with Delrita trying to stay invisible at school so nobody knows about Punky. Then in the midst of all that, tragedy strikes. If you would like to know how Delrita deals with this, you’ll have to check out the book!
