iFolio – Fractions & Decimals

by 043031 on April 12, 2013

I would fall on a 3.3 for this math unit, because I understood almost everything, and the things I did not understand I would ask my friend.

The most challenging part of this unit would be dividing fractions, because I would forget which fraction to turn around. The easiest part would be multiplying, adding and subtracting fractions.

I think I did enough in my Math Journal to get a good grade in the final test for this unit, although from time to time I would forget to do my Homework.

My favorite activity was coloring hundredths to show a fraction.

AOI Humanities~Blitz

December 6, 2012

In Humanities, we are studying the first emperor of China, Shi Huang Di. I am looking at Health and Social education as the Area of Interaction because Shi Huang Di improved social life by standardizing China’s measurements so that people would understand other people (languages, measurements, etc.)

Today at school I learned about a tyrant named Joseph Kony, who lives in Ugandi. He is a man who began to abduct children from as early as 1988. He would kidnap them every night to become his  Army. He wasn’t a real threat until 1992, when he launched an attack on a government building. [...]

Reducing Fractions

February 12, 2012

Today I’m gonna talk about how to reduce fractions, as part of our math menu project. The first step is to find the highest common factors of both the numerator and the denominator. For example, if your fraction was: 39/12, you would have to find the HCF of both. Factors of 39 would be 1,3,13,39. [...]

Exit 2011, Enter 2012 (plus the Winter Break) :)

January 4, 2012

The year 2011 has finally come to an end, and although our old teacher Dr. Mcleod left, a substitute teacher called Ms. Kwan took her place. I am really looking forward to the next half of the year, because although Dr. Mcleod was a very good teacher, I’m sure Ms. Kwan will be just as [...]

Unit Reflection

December 16, 2011

Overall, this unit was very enjoyeable. Here are the top ten I learned about how we organize ourselves. 1. I learned that marketplace’s locations, operations, and organizational features are all determined by the community members. The community determines these because the marketplace has to serve what they want or need so that more customers will [...]
