This year, we had a choice of going to Thailand or going to Beijing. At the beginning of the year a already chose to go to Thailand. It was crazy, painful, and fun.
I think overall in the trip if have shown 2 of the learner profile attributes. If you don’t know what the learner profile is, click here. The first one is risk taking. I was kind of freaked out on the confidence course near the rings; I am not that good with rings or monkey bars. But, I told myself that I can do it in a short amount of time and I was able to finish it. The second one was communicating. I tried to communicate with kids who don’t know much English and made friends with them. They also started to show me around their school by pointing at things. I then talk to them in English that can be understandable with the Thai kids.
2 questions:
- What was something that surprised you about someone else?
What surprised me was how poor they were. They were wearing broken and/or old clothes that can barely fit them. Their games are very different from us. They were able to make loud noises with paper and make planes do a loop before landing. We would just be playing computer games or using Facebook or something.
- What was it like to be away from your family for a week?
It was great and lonely at the same time. I didn’t have to be annoyed from my sister who tries to play with me, and have parents sometimes care too much for me (wearing more clothing, ask if homework is done etc.). But I missed all my family who I would see everyday and talk to.

I will be posting my trip posts shortly
If you don’t know what KMT stands for, it stands for Kinetic molecular theory. We where split into groups where one side is defending our teacher, Mr. Kirchner of fraud from the KMT without any evidence, and one side is trying to put him in jail . We were to go through experiments and find evidence. I was on the prosecution side. People Today was the final day of the trail. I was the jury member, and i thought that the description we made were great and it reasonable. Next time, i think i would want to be a photographer because i had some experience with a camera and i want to practice using it.
Well, the grade 7s are going to a trip. some people are going to Beijing, some are going to Chiang Mai. I am going to Chiang Mai! hopefully come back in one piece or get sucked by mosquitos. I will post a blog afterwards.
One of the activity is building a school for the local community. Yep, we are going to get messy… otherwise, it looks like a good trip

Our teacher Mr. Kirchiner asked us a few question and showed us a graph:
Where would you fall on the stress and learning graph? Why?
2, because i knew what was taught in math class.
What was challenging about this unit? What was easy?
Challenging was the Level 8 questions. Why? Because i didn’t have time to finish it. Easy was doing math.
How was your effort in class and at home reflected in your assessment results?
I think i tried hard and i have revised at home
What activities did you like in this unit?
Math!
