I believe that being balanced as an individual is extremely important, particularly concerning its intellectual, physical and emotional aspects, as they contribute towards personal well-being in life.
With academics, I constantly strive for excellence in every subject that I take, trying my best to do well and achieve my ideal results. This can be seen through the Principal’s Award, which I have received through Grades 7-9, is awarded to those who receive an IB MYP Grade of 6 or higher in all but one subject taken, and typically only given to approximately 10% of the grade.
One of my passions is ballet, a physical activity that has pushed my limits and forced me to persist, persevere and try my best at all times. I regularly attend classes, with at most four classes a week, and have also taken part in examinations, school performances, as well as intensive summer dance schools.
Another one of my passions is playing the flute, which allows me to freely express my emotions and relieve myself of any stress that has resulted from my school life. I am a member of the school’s senior band – Symphonic Winds, attending regular rehearsals and taking part in annual performances. I also take lessons outside of school, which have led me to complete graded examinations and participate in competitions.
