In the last month, we had been working on a assignment called Painting the Gym. In this assignment, we had to measure the area and the lines of the school’s gymnasium. After all the measuring, we had to calculate the total cost of repainting the lines and varnishing the floor of the gymnasium.
I think this assignment fits into the AOI of Approaches to Learning. In this assignment, we had to use a measuring tool that I had never approached to before – the trundle wheel. If look through the lens of Approaches to Learning, I am approaching to a new measuring tool and learning how to measure with it.
I think I best showed the Learner Profile of Communicators in this assignment. I worked with a group of friends during the measuring process, so I could speed things up and not waste my time. We had to communicate very well since we measured the lines together, making sure that there wasn’t anything misunderstood between us.
Overall, I think this assessment was really fun because we got to approach different tools. Also, we got to approach different problems and issues that happens in everyday lives as we are calculating costs of repainting lines and varnishing the floor. However, if we had more trundle wheels provided it would be better so there wouldn’t be fights on who gets the trundle wheel. We could also measure the gym in class time (when we were given time to work on our assignment) since we were working on the it anyways.
