Hello my fellow comrades I have recently went on a experience trip to Beijing with my fellow classmates. Our first day at Beijing was sunny and wonderful. Our flight was delayed by half an hour. The trip from Hong Kong to Beijing on the plane was one of the most annoying plane rides i’ve been on. My first experience in Beijing was really fun. The first dinner we had at Beijing was not so good, the food at the peking duck dinner was not the best i’ve ever had. The best part of the dinner was when the restaurant surprised Jeffrey with a birthday cake.
The Huiling community center rally touched all of us. When we saw these individuals we really noticed that we were really lucky because we could go to a school and we had the abilities to learn but the people at the center would have a really hard time learning what we learn on a normal day at school.
Some of the really difficult things made us tired mentally and physically. The challenges like the great wall really gave us an image of what it was like when the mongolians were attacking. The heat really got to some of us on the great wall and the only choice that we had was to keep going or else walk back. In the future I would either try and bring more water or improve my fitness.
The really sunny days effected us a lot because on the great wall we were really exposed to the sun. The views that we had on the weather were really wrong. There were a lot of of similarities in Beijing to Hong Kong like the pollution and the humidity. The culture was completely different to Hong Kong’s because most of the sites that we visited were old and significant to the chinese society.
The next morning we had the privilege to wake up the latest. We went to our first buffet breakfast which was awesome. After breakfast we had the “highlight” of the trip, the great wall hike. The 11 kilometer hike was so tiring, we kept walking and walking until our tour guide told us that we had to walk another 3 kilometer which made it even more difficult.
1. When we visited the Hui Ling community center it really gave us an image that we were really lucky. The thing that really strook me was their wish list everything on it was either school things or our daily life objects. Looking at them really made some of us emotional.
2. When we went to the Hutong Provence it told most of the students that the people living there were following their ancient traditions for such a long time. That was what amazed me the most.
3.When we went on the great wall there were a lot of parts all crumbled up and destroyed that showed me that the farmers living around that area wanted to keep their tradition and not add or change what was once the wall that saved China.
