The needs and wants of people
Businesses feed of this topic. Its safe to say that business can be classified into selling needs or wants. Charities give needs to the needy free of charge. Organizations that sell food can be sometimes be classified as a need. A want could be say a company that sells books. Sure, you may want a book however, it is unlikely such a book would be classified as a need.
Which organizations do better? Well, its unlikely you would buy a surplus of clothes, whereas a organization that sells electronics may have a higher profit margin.
Needs can include, warmth, shelter, clothes, food, and sometimes hygiene
Wants can be pretty much anything else a human would want that is not a need
