Other Awards

Honour Roll – is a list of all students who have met the following criteria:

  • Grade 11 – an average of 80% or more on the best six subjects taken within CDNIS.
  • Grades 7 – 10 – an IB grade of 5 or higher in all but one subject taken.

Principal’s Award – is awarded to all students in Grades 9 and 10 students who have met the following criteria:

  • Grades 9 and 10 – an IB grade of 6 or higher in all but one subject taken.

Subject Awards – awarded to students in Grades 7 – 11 for excellence in each subject.

Global Young Leaders Conference Scholarship – is awarded to an outstanding student leader chosen to participate in a 12-day gathering in the US of student leaders from around the world.

Ontario Educational Leadership Scholarship – is awarded to a student leader with a sports/intramural focus who will participate in a one-week leadership training institute in Ontario, Canada.

University of British Columbia Summer Music Programme Scholarship – is awarded to a Grade 7 or 8 student who shows promise in the field of music and who will benefit from participation in this two-week programme.

Mandarin Summer Study Scholarships – are awarded to deserving students in the MYP or DP programme who show a keenness to improve their Chinese language skills by studying onsite in China for two weeks during the summer.

Mandarin Summer Internships – are awarded to students who are given exceptional feedback after their summer work placement in a Mainland company.

Independent Community Service Learning Scholarships – Students must submit a proposal for this award in which they outline how they will be involved in an activity or develop a project independent of their regular school service club activities.

Subsidies for School Representatives Involving Travel Outside of Hong Kong – Students in arts, sports, global issues, MUN, debate, etc. who are part of a group or team representing CDNIS outside of Hong Kong will be automatically granted for a travel subsidy. Please see the Athletic Director for further information on this award.

 IB Learner Profile Awards – Students throughout the Upper School will be recognized periodically in the course of the year as they distinguish themselves in one or more of the IB Learner Profile Attributes. These include: Inquirers, Thinkers, Communicators, Carers, Knowledgeable, Risk-Takers, Principled, Open-Minded, Balanced, and Reflective.
