Cross Country is a Season 2 sport which runs from November to February. The try out for the Cross Country Team 2016/17 will take place in the week of 7 – 11 November. More details will be posted by the end of October.
Cross Country is a physically challenging sport that attracts over 60 CDNIS runners. They regularly run at Aberdeen Country Park and race at mini meets around Hong Kong. They do so in extremely hot, humid conditions dealing with snakes and pigs, mosquitoes and buffalo. Our runners are tough.
Practices begin the week after the trials for both Upper School and Lower School. Practices for US are Tue/Thur and Friday. Practices for Lower School are Tue/Thur.
For U12, U14, U16 and U20 athletes, it is important that all athletes bring water to each training session. Buses will depart from level 7 at 2:30 to Aberdeen Country Park. There will then be a bus returning at 4:40 so runners will be able to catch the 5:10-5:20 bus home.
Competitions and Buses
Throughout the season we have a number of Cross Country Competitions. They will all be held at various locations around Hong Kong depending on the hosting school. For bus service, a bus will depart CDNIS and bring all athletes and coaches to the event. Following the event students will be dropped off at Paterson St in Causeway Bay only. Please arrange the appropriate transportation for your children at that stop.
ISSFHK Championship will be held in the week 14-17 February. Location to be announced.
SEASAC Cross Country is being hosted by UWCE. This two day event will take place in Singapore between 26 – 27 November.
