Dear Parents,
this week we’re in the midst of wrapping up a very successful season two. Seven out of eight basketball teams made the playoffs, golf championships are on Friday, swimming is heading to SEASAC in two weeks time, tennis championships are next week, and U12 and U16 rugby are still finishing their seasons. Details for all season two games and practices can be found here.
With season two finishing, it’s time for season three to begin. It starts next Tuesday, February 21st. Swimming, gymnastics, U12 rugby, and U16 rugby will continue into season three. Additionally, we’re beginning the following 2012 T-Wolves teams:
Season Three Teams beginning Feb. 21st
U12, U14, U16, U20 Boys and Girls Badminton
U12, U14, U16, U20 Boys and Girls Track and Field
U20 Boys and Girls Football
U20 Boys and Girls Softball
We’ve finalized the practice schedule for season three and it’s attached. All practices will also be entered here. From time to time schedules change, so checking the website is the most up to date way to find all essential practice and game information. Our Athletic Department goes to great lengths to ensure all details on this site are accurate. Please alert us of any errors right away so they can be fixed. Game schedules are being added daily, as fixtures are being confirmed. A list of season three teams and coaches can also be found attached.
Tryouts for all teams will be during the normal practice sessions that can be found on the attachment. This schedule is effective from Feb 21 until April 27th. Most team selections will be made by Friday, Feb 24. A couple coaches may need more time to make their selections. All teams will be finalized by Friday, March 2nd.
Age Groups are defined by a child’s age on September 1st 2011. For example, a child who turned 16 on September 2nd 2011, is still considered U16. On many teams, athletes move up into older age divisions, this is quite common and done for a variety of reasons. No athletes are allowed to compete in younger divisions.
Transportation will be normal 4:20 and 5:20 buses in most cases. We’ll arrange transport after away games to our usual drop off point in Causeway Bay, Paterson Street. Bus details for home and away matches are updated daily and can also be found here.
Finally, we hope to see all CDNIS students either at a practice or a tryout next week. Athletic competition is an excellent compliment to rigorous academics and essential to the growth, development, and wellness of all CDNIS students. If any student or parent is unsure how to get involved, please come and see me in office 301. I’m here to help.
Sincerely,
Matt Battani
